School Holidays - School returns Monday 22 January! Rosters will return to our previous before/after school care hours unless you have contacted us to advise changes. Friday 26 January is a Public Holiday, so if you require support, we will charge this at the higher rate. The Castle will be closed Friday 26 January, but will be open Saturday 27 January as normal.
TRAINING - we have AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) booked for Brisbane next week, and our yearly ALL STAFF Training will be in February (dates to be confirmed).
VAN - Precious Angels Brisbane are looking to purchase a 2 wheelchair van. We have received board approval following a very detailed business case by Assistant Manager Dillon, and the search has begun! We are looking for a 2 wheelchair van, so we can start to reduce reliance on taxis and public transport for our Castle.
NEW STAFF we have lots of new faces in Brisbane and Mackay! Welcome to you all. We are very excited to welcome you to our Precious Angels Family, and look forward to families meeting our new recruits in the coming weeks.
Precious Angels Office Hours are 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday. If the office is closed, please contact the afterhours number (0421 521 750).
The afterhours phone is shared between Amanda and Dillon during the week and Kayla on weekends.

From the desk of Amanda
Dear Precious Angels Families,
Welcome back to 2024! I hope the holidays brought you moments of joy, connection, and cherished memories. Each new year brings promise of new possibilities.
As we start the new year, I want to thank you for your continuing trust and support of Precious Angels. Your trust and support empowers us to continue to strive for excellence in everything we do, and we are honored to be a part of your journey.
Upcoming Staff Training in February: In our continued commitment to providing the highest quality care, I am pleased to announce our staff will be undertaking training in February. This initiative is designed to enhance our team's skills and knowledge, ensuring we continue to meet the unique needs of each individual in our care. Your continued support allows us to invest in the professional development of our staff, ultimately benefiting the entire community.
Neu Pathways Australia will be providing AAC (Augmentatitve and Alternative Communication) training - "Being an Effective Communication Partner" - here at The Castle on Tuesday.
Kayla, Dillon and Apple are working on our training plan, together with our new Team leader - Melinda Tidey (Mel). Mel has graciously added to her workload to officially coach, mentor and support a small group of support workers. These 4 senior staff will be responsible for small teams, to ensure all of our support workers are providing a uniform standard of care.
Exciting News: Introducing Our Wheelchair Accessible Van: I am delighted to share some truly exciting news - we are in the process of acquiring a wheelchair-accessible van. This new addition to our resources will not only facilitate transportation but also open up new avenues for our community members to engage in various activities and events. We are committed to fostering inclusivity, and this van will play a crucial role in ensuring that everyone can participate in the activities they enjoy.
Warm regards,
Amanda
