We are recruiting! Precious Angels are looking for people who are caring, friendly, and fun, and want to work in disability support. We are ideally searching for more workers in the Redland Bay/Wynnum Manly area. If you or anyone you know are interested, please send a resume through to our admin email.

From the desk of Amanda:

Welcome to another newsletter. Brendan is working with the format and presentation, and so far its coming along nicely. Its exciting to have an online format, and this will expand our communication with our community.

Our NDIS Registration review is scheduled for 5 June 2023. I will need to contact families and employees who wish to participate in the coming weeks to gain your approval for the external auditor to contact you.

We have put out enquiries for a new respite home. STA/Respite is important to our Angel Families, and we need to have more capacity to meet your needs.

Training remains a key focus for our Angel Staff. Medication Administration, Personal Care, Health and Safety, Communicating via Shift Notes and Communication books, and Professional Boundaries are just some of the areas we have covered over recent months.

We encourage participant specific therapists to attend the Castle for training of our teams, and we've had some behavioural specialists, speech therapists and OT's bring us training also.

All staff should have completed their annual "policies and procedures" review and returned their signed paperwork to ADMIN. Zena will be chasing anyone who has not.

Apple and our Castle crew have been working hard to make the Castle a fun, sensory filled environment for all our participants. We've enjoyed some exciting theme days in recent weeks, and we'd like to extend this to our Respite Participants. Kayla is working on weekend activities and outings. If you have any suggestions, we'd love to hear them.

Weekend Castle bookings for Saturdays at the Castle are off to a slow start. Ideally we'd like a few more attendees so we can organise outings to places like South Bank, Newfarm Park, Maritime Museum, and/or Queen Street Mall. I love to see our social media and newsletters full of happy smiling faces.

I hope the process of sending preliminary rosters on a Wednesday is working for our Families as well as our staff. Any feedback around this is also appreciated.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Coming up at The Castle

This fortnight we've got an individualised plan for our participants. That means there's something a little different for everyone depending on their needs.

Working towards their NDIS goals is super important and we love finding fun and engaging ways to achieve them!

These activities include stretching, a little foot soak and community access. Maybe even a haircut if anyone's looking a little shaggy!

Out with the Angels

We had a LOVELY time out at the Roma St Parklands (before all this rain!) and I think these photos prove that much fun was had.

We also got up to our usual shennanigans at The Castle, bubbles and play all around!

Towards the end of the photos you can see young Travis, Caleb, Brayden, Gary, Lily, Ian, Travis and The Castle crew on their way through IKEA.

Photo of the Week

Here's a new segment for you all. A bit of creativity can make for some great experiences and some great shots. Here's this week's winner featuring Dylan in a rather scenic location, under the Gateway Bridge, enjoying a few Z's and some vitamin D.

Angel of the Fortnight

We're happy to celebrate Brendan this newsletter. Brendan always gives his best effort, and is willing to help his fellow Angels. Brendan helps our participants achieve their NDIS goals by providing variety and creative outings.
